Dear Parents / Carers
School Starters September 2020
Please may I remind parents with children who are due to start school in September, that the final day for registering your child for a place in the school of your choice, is Friday 15th January 2021. Please note that even if you have a child in our school Nursery, you will still need to apply for a place through the Cheshire West and Chester Admissions Portal.

Christmas Updates
Rudolf Run
As per my last letter, we will be asking the children to take part in a Rudolf Run during the last week of term. This is fundraising which will involve the children wearing a set of antlers and a red nose provided by St Luke’s Hospice and following a member of staff (dressed in a Santa Suit) around the school grounds to raise awareness of and to support support St Luke’s hospice. Should you wish to make a donation for this, please follow the link below which will take you to the Just Giving Page. A small donation, irrespective of the value, will help to maintain this wonderful service in the town. Please also share the link with your friends and families as the donations do not have to come solely from our school community. Thank you for your support with this matter. Please note that the children will get to keep their antlers and red nose and will also be provided with a pot of porridge.
You can donate to the JustGiving page by clicking here:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice, so it's the most efficient way to give - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Christmas Cards
This year due to the pandemic, we should be grateful if the children do not bring Christmas cards into school. Instead, if they would like to send a collective card to their class or members or the school community, then we ask that they make their own card and that a photograph of this is sent into school to be shown on the electronic whiteboard in their classroom or if appropriate sent to the relevant member of staff. Please use the year group email accounts to send cards into school.
Christmas Gifts
At this time of year, we usually have parents sending cards and gifts to members of staff to acknowledge the work the they have undertaken with their child. Although we never request gifts, we usually receive many items and are grateful for the gifts and the thought behind them. This year we realise that many families will be experiencing difficulties due to the pandemic and therefore we feel it appropriate to advise you of an alternative way of thanking a member of staff, without sending a card or gift into school. By following the link below you will be able to post an appropriate message on the ‘Thank a Teacher’ website, which is supported by the Department of Education, should you wish to do so. Messages to all members of staff can be posted in this way free of charge, simply use the returns email address for each member of staff.

Should you still wish to send a small token of your appreciation into school for a member of staff, we ask that you do so early during the last week of term, so that any items can be placed into quarantine before the member of staff takes them home for the festive break.
